Technology Solutions Labs (TSL) takes the art and science of Digital Media and Internet of Things (IoT) and applies it across industries. Digital Media and IoT utilize a powerful set of tools that are revolutionizing the world of entertainment, gaming, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and education. Using the collective expertise and perspectives of Deep Dive alumni and industry professionals, TSL is at the forefront of creating new products, technologies, and services for businesses around the US. 

We use a proven methodology of understanding your technical problem and applying our technical skills to solve that problem in a creative way. The innovative services we provide will modernize the way your organization connects with the world.

We are committed to providing motivating and meaningful educational and professional opportunities for students in New Mexico. Our work fosters education, community outreach, professional research, and technology collaboration. TSL commits to providing technical resources to New Mexico residents, institutions, and businesses in an effort to stimulate economic development and to give our students and alumni an opportunity to work on ‘real-world’ technical projects.

Rod Sanchez, Ph.D.

Rod’s formal academic training is in neuroscience. He has spent the last decade working with companies such as Intel, HP, and DreamWorks to develop first-of-its-kind products and technologies around the world. Rod’s projects range from creating the first robotic hospital pharmacy in the US to helping to design a state-of-art tele-communications system for countries in southeast Asia. At Intel, Rod founded and managed the worldwide Community Solutions Program – this multi-billion dollar program paired Intel technologists with industry experts outside of Intel in various industries to create new products. Later, Rod collaborated with DreamWorks Animation SKG to develop a new technical model for rendering animated images used in motion picture from geographically remote locations. This new technical model was used in the production of Academy Award nominated movies such as Shrek Forever After, Kung Fu Panda 2, and How to Train Your Dragon. Rod maintains his academic roots and actively works with schools and universities around the US to develop digital media production training initiatives.

Rod is the lead instructor for Ingenuity’s Deep Dive Digital Media bootcamp and a member of numerous motion picture, technology, science, and digital media industry organizations.

Brian Rashap, Ph.D.

Dr. Rashap spent nearly a quarter of century at Intel Corporation where he was most recently the General Manager of Corporate Services for the Americas Region. In this role, he was responsible for Intel physical infrastructure and facilities in the United States and Canada, including three large manufacturing sites. His team managed facilities operations, building services, construction, environmental health and safety, and on-site employee conveniences. In addition, he had managed Intel’s aviation program and drove an internal drone operations program to improve safety, cost, and productive. Brian’s past roles include running the manufacturing operations for Intel’s highest volume wafer fabrication facility, as well as leading the engineering to ramp Intel’s High-K / Metal Gate technology into high volume manufacturing. Throughout his Intel career, Brian drove the implementation of technology and IoT to improve building, manufacturing, facilities, and building capabilities and performance.

Prior to Intel, Brian received his B.S.E., M.S.E. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. His doctoral work focused on the application of Control Theory to improving semiconductor manufacturing processes. He worked at the NASA Langley Research Center on control of large unmanned space structures, as well as autonomous space-based robotics.
Brian has been involved in helping entrepreneurs start and grow businesses. He is an Angel Investor and a member of the board of directors of an Albuquerque-based technology start-up company. Additionally, he is a member of a board of a Santa Fe-based start-up accelerator for cultural entrepreneurs.

Janel Sanchez

Janel is the Project Manager for TSL. A Digital Media Alumni and currently a AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer, she plays a big role in the organizational structure and communication. Along with her passion for education and mentoring, she loves being able to network and connect our amazing alumni with new and exciting projects.

Thomas is a creative digital media technologist.  His skills include audio/video production and editing, commercial animation, documentary shorts, and production of computer generated imagery (CGI).  He had produced animated commercials for several NM companies including AdWallet and City Solar.

James specializes in working with animated shorts and has created animated ads for the mobile app, AdWallet, as well as ads for businesses like Positive Energy Solar and Sunstate Solar as a creator for AdWallet. He also has experience coding short, choose your own adventure games using Unity, and has created a youtube channel called “Jem Reviews” where he reviews mostly western animations, that has amassed over 30,000 subscribers. 

McEl Elbrecht

McEl is a certified digital marketing specialist who uses digital media to enhance her client’s ad campaigns, social media pages, and websites. She has experience in leading multiple campaign efforts in a variety of fields. Her passion is giving small business owners creative options and data driven results.


Charles is a digital media artist with experience in animation, illustration, and film. He enjoys using these art forms to tell a good story, and is passionate about learning new skills. As a former teacher, he understands the value of education, and draws from his own experience to inform his work.

Kasie Cochrane

Kasie is a Creative Designer who specializes in digital illustration, 2d animation, graphic design and video production and editing. With a background in Fine Art and a passion for Art and Design, she strives to build projects that can expose the creative process. She has created logos, animations and graphics for organizations such as the New Mexico DOH, CNM Westside campus, Explora, and several local businesses.

Thomas is a 3D Artist that specializes in the creation of 3D assets and PBR(Physically-Based Rendering) materials. He has experience that ranges from creating 3D characters to fully digital worlds. His passion is in 3D environment art and loves to immerse users in the worlds that he builds. Additionally, his hobby is building multiplayer maps in Halo Forge. His map “Fire Wall” is in the official map rotation in Halo 5 and his latest map “Endless Shore” won 3rd place in the Forge Hub4v4 Slayer Map Contest. His goal is to spark creativity in others with the work that he creates.

Judah a local New Mexican, is founder of multimedia production company Kismetism LLC. He has expertise in graphic design, photography, videography, animation, art direction, fine art, and media editing services. He is dedicated to crafting various kinds of creative and digital media that focus on bringing quality art and passion into the forefront of human values.

Michael is a Digital Media Specialist. He specializes in video editing, graphic design and animation. He has produced and edited many promotional videos for many different clients and is currently helping run the Comcast Digital Media Studio at WESST Enterprise Center. He brings creativity and passion to any project that he works on.


Niki is a captivating storyteller, often using Digital Media as the vehicle to drive her plot points home.  Her preferred mediums and growing skills include animation,  writing, and storyboarding.  Her background in travel, literature,  and life experiences color and shape her work.


Jeremiah is a digital media designer. He specializes in graphic design, 3D & 2D modeling, game and application development. He is currently participating in a non-profit crowd development team working on Space Station 3D.


Ted is an experience editorial, instructional, comics, storyboard, general illustrator, and graphic designer. He specializes in comic strip and comic book illustration, presentation and production storyboards, finished editorial art, as well as vintage-style illustration.


Joseph specializes in digital marketing, SEO, branding, and web and L.A.M.P. stack development. Using these skills, he works with local and national companies to build an online presence and also provides solutions that help companies work effectively. When he is not working with businesses, he is the organizer and host for the Deep Dive Meet-up. The Deep Dive Meet-up is A monthly event that strives to increase the tech community in Albuquerque and creates an opportunity for developers and digital artists to network.


Alija is a creative technologist that elevates organizational storytelling through graphic design, AR/VR, data visualizations, and projection mapping. Alija has a background in digital media, community planning and data science.


Valente is your friendly neighborhood web developer. He grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from Deep Dive in 2017. He has been actively developing and helping small businesses in the greater ABQ area. There really is not any language or form of tech that he is not familiar with and always welcomes new challenges.


Nycole, a New Mexico native, originally designed her career between art and finance. After an established career with several financial firms she embarked on a new adventure and completed the first Internet of Things bootcamp. Nycole is excited to merge her art with new technology while pursing a career in fabrication and robotics.


Mina has a passion for learning and experience in C/ C++. She is a Python junior developer and loves to program micro-controllers as well as build sensor/actuator integration, develop cloud-based data visualization, circuit design, and 3D model. She speaks three different languages and in her free time she loves to travel the world and meet new people.


Growing up in Taos, New Mexico, Marlene's creativity was constantly fed by the music and art that surrounded her. At the same time she loved technology, from solar panels to cars. It's potential to constantly make life easier and more eco-friendly. She often felt these two passions were at odds. CNM's Deep Dive IoT bootcamp got her on the path to bring these two together. There is no limit to what she believe she can achieve with her new skills.
